How Important Sustainability is For the Fashion Industry
We at Rey House are doing our best to make all of our products sustainably. This is not easy as the fashion industry has a complex and diverse supply chain. Luckily we have the skills in our business to challenge and focus on ensuring that we are doing our best. Making sustainable clothing for women is very important today for a variety of reasons, including:

Environmental Impact: The fashion industry is a major contributor to environmental pollution and resource depletion. According to a report by the United Nations, the fashion industry is responsible for 10% of global carbon emissions and 20% of global wastewater. By producing sustainable clothing, manufacturers can reduce the environmental impact of their products.

Social Impact: Many garments are produced in developing countries, where labor laws are often lax and workers may not be paid a fair wage or have proper working conditions. According to a report by the Ethical Trading Initiative, a UK-based organization, "many garment workers in developing countries are paid poverty wages and have no access to trade union representation or other forms of worker representation." By producing sustainable clothing, manufacturers can help to improve the lives of workers in these countries.

Economic Impact: Sustainability can also have a positive impact on the economy. According to a report by the Global Fashion Agenda and The Boston Consulting Group, "sustainability can drive innovation, increase efficiency and reduce costs, leading to improved financial performance."

Consumer demand: Today consumers are more conscious about their impact on the environment and the social conditions of those who produce the clothes they wear, and are demanding more sustainable options. A report by Nielsen states that 66% of global consumers are willing to pay more for sustainable products, and this number is even higher among millennials.
